Dear Patricia,
As promised here are a couple of pictures of me in my beautiful wedding dress. I
had the most amazing day - everything was perfect and I felt like a princess.
When I first got engaged (after the initial high) I realised that I would have
to find a dress. I had never been into a wedding shop but my thoughts on
the subject filled me with pure terror. I had only ever seen pictures
of small size dresses and as a bigger person I knew I would have trouble a) finding
a dress that fitted, b) one I liked, and most importantly c) one that I would
feel comfortable in. I didn't want to have to squeeze into a dress that was the
wrong shape for me.
I googled 'plus size wedding dresses in London' and thankfully your website was
the first site I visited. The information was plentiful and the dresses
looked like they had actually be designed for people over a size 16. I
emailed you and your response was almost instant. The minute I walked into
your studio I felt at ease. You assured me that I had 2 whole hours to
try on as many dresses as I pleased. The dresses are helpfully arranged
in price order - I was expecting to pay a premium for a bigger size dresses but
I was pleasantly surprised.
Unlike most dress shops me and my sister were the only ones there so I didn't
feel I was being 'watched' by other brides to be or their families. Your
expertise on what suits individual shapes was invaluable.
The last dress I tried on (at you recommendation) was the perfect dress - the
colour and fit suited me.
We discussed sizes and I was confident that the dress would fit like a glove. You
accommodated me when I sprang on you 8 weeks later that I would like a jacket
to be made. You kindly organised the extra material to be shipped and measurements
to be sent to the jacket company. Then again when I asked if it was possible
to check dress sizes 6 weeks before my wedding.
I was kept informed at every stage and your seamstress worked miracles taking
4 1/2 inches off the dress as I had lost weight.
I can't recommend your services highly enough, if there is any bride out there
looking for a plus size dress then I urge them to visit you where size truly
doesn't matter!
I have had so many complements about the dress - I want to get married all over
again so I can wear my dress again.
